THE TEACHER: PART ONE
"Miss Gray," Ellyn asked, "may speak with you for a
moment, it's really important!?!" "You know the rules," Miss Gray replied
stiffly, "you have to make an appointment, I teach five classes a day and my
time is very valuable!!!" "I know that," Ellyn said softly, "but this is kind of
personal, and I was just hoping..........." Looking up from her stack of just
completed tests, and seeing the consternation in Ellyn's face, the middle aged
teacher relaxed a bit and replied, "Oh well, I guess I can give you a few
minutes, dear, have a seat and tell me what's on your mind!!!"
Ellen set her books on the corner of Miss Gray's desk and began slowly, "Well,
uh, it's like this, I can't talk to my mother about this stuff, cuz I know she
won't understand!!!" Now leaning back in her chair with her hands interlaced
behind her head, Miss Gray asked casually, "What wouldn't she understand, dear,
I think most mothers are pretty good listeners, and from what I've seen of you
mom, well I wouldn't be too worried about it!!!" "That's easy for you to say,"
Ellyn replied as the tears welled up in her eyes and streamed down her cheeks,
"y-you don't have to face her and give her the kind of news that will just break
her heart!!!" "You're not pregnant, are you,' Miss Gray asked while leaning
forward in her chair, "because if you are, your parents will have to be told
right away!!!"
"Oh no," Ellyn replied quickly, "it's nothing like that, but in a way I wish it
were!!!" Now placing her hand on the young girl's arm she said gently, "Don't
worry, dear, nothing can be as bad as all that, now come on now, tell me what's
bothering you!!!" With her chin touching her chest and unable to look her
teacher in the eye she went on in barely audible tones, "I-I think that I'm gay,
no, I know that I'm gay!!!" The stunned teacher stared at the beautiful eighteen
year old and asked softly, "Honey, how do you know that you're a lesbian, are
you sure!?!" "I just know," she said while beginning to sob quietly to herself,
"it's just something a person knows about herself, oh darn, I knew I shouldn't
have come here, I'm sorry Miss Gray, I'll just leave now!!!" As Ellyn began to
rise up out of her chair, Miss Gray took her by the arm and had her sit back
down while asking, "Have you had any experiences with girls, dear, I mean
sexually of course!?!" A now red faced Ellyn replied, "W-well, not really, but
in the locker room I get all squishy inside when I see the other girls naked,
and I have absolutely no interest in boys at all!!!" Now patting the poor child
on the arm to comfort her, Miss Gray asked in a slightly husky voice, "Do you
masturbate thinking about other girls!!!" With a shame covered face Ellyn
replied softly, "Yes, ma'am, and I just can't help myself, every night I pray
that I can get to sleep without touching myself, but I never can!!!" Miss Gray
looked at the clock on the wall and opined, "I don't want you to think that I'm
giving you the short shrift, but I do have a lot of work to do, but if you're
free this evening, I want you to come visit me at this address, I'll be looking
for you at about seven!!!" Ellyn picked up the slip of paper that had an street
number written in long hand, and after a moment or two of hesitation she replied
softly, "Okay, Miss Gray, I'll be there!!!
